Year 5 trip to Mosque

12th May 2026

Year 5 took time out of the classroom to visit a mosque in Portsmouth as part of their Religious Education learning journey on Islam. The children received a warm and welcoming introduction to the mosque and its community. During their visit, they respectfully observed the community taking part in Salah, the daily prayers, which helped to deepen their understanding of Islamic worship and practices.

The pupils then enjoyed an informative and engaging talk from the Imam, who explained key beliefs and answered questions about life as a Muslim. The children had prepared thoughtful questions in advance and showed great curiosity and respect as they asked them, gaining valuable first-hand insight into the faith. The visit was a memorable experience that helped bring their classroom learning to life and strengthened their understanding of different cultures and religions.
