Changing Seasons

27th February 2026

At the start of this term, Wren Class began an exciting topic all about weather. They explored the different types of weather we experience and investigated what actually causes these changes in our atmosphere. To help them become real young scientists, the children made their very own wind watchers to observe wind direction and speed. They also placed rain‑collection bowls outside and checked them regularly to measure how much rainfall had gathered over time.

As their learning developed, the class explored how temperatures change and how weather differs across the four seasons of the year. They compared warm and cold periods, looked at how daylight changes across the seasons, and discussed how these patterns affect plants, animals, and people.

To finish their topic, the children stepped into the role of weather forecasters. They prepared their own weather reports, practiced speaking clearly and confidently, and recorded fantastic weather forecast videos, just like real presenters on TV. The class had a wonderful time learning, experimenting, and becoming experts in all things weather!
