Prayer Life

Prayer Life in Our School

Lavant is a Church of England School and prayer in an important and valued part of our school Life.  We create opportunities for personal as well as for communal prayer. Each classroom has a reflective space in which children may go at any time of the day for quiet reflection or prayer. In our hall we have a prayer space which children can visit to pray, reflect, be quiet or share thoughts with their friends. Frances Talbot, (Family and Children's worker) is available in the prayer space each week after Church worship to chat to or pray with children.

Children are encouraged to recognise that prayer is about a personal relations with God. When sharing traditional prayers, such as The Lord's Prayer, we reflect upon the words used and explore the meaning of them in a variety of ways.

We pray together as a school every morning during worship, before lunch and at the end of the day
