Early Years Foundation Stage
Welcome to Wren Class – where learning is fun!
Where children love; observing, socialising, talking, explaining, exploring, experimenting, sharing, practicing, investigating and expressing themselves…
Where children engage in first – hand experiences, have access to well – resourced workshop areas both inside and out to develop their interests and extend their learning across all areas of the curriculum.
We follow the Early Years Curriculum and use it as an assessment tool to inform our planning.
We have an open door policy. Parents are welcomed into the classroom every morning where there is always a chance to chat, catch up, ask questions and raise concerns etc.
We provide a comprehensive induction process as the children start school with us. We offer; home visits, school visits, a parents meeting where we introduce parents to key staff and provide a wide variety of information and contacts for when the children start with us. We liaise closely with pre-schools and other Reception Class staff in the locality. We provide workshops for parents to come and learn more about how children learn with us here at Lavant.
We have had a very exciting start to this half term.
We arrived to a pile of boxes and a letter from some of the toys in our classroom.
They challenged us to build our own castle so that we can eat fruit and milk in it.
We all dressed up because we are learning about what life was like living in a castle.
We all enjoyed sharing a Maths lesson with our parents on Wednesday 8th November 2017. We all had lots of fun.
